KHL congratulates TelecomPlus for bringing out this special issue on the occasion of World Telecom and Information Society Day celebrated worldwide under the banner of ITU. In the recent decades, the role of ICTs in every sphere of human activity, including the restructuring of global economy, has become imperative. As more and more information is generated, there is more need to transfer this information and knowledge. On the occasion of the World Telecommunication and Information Society Day, we strongly believe that taking communications technologies to rural areas would play a very important role in bridging digital divide and poverty alleviation. We feel that with the concept of “the world being a global village,” the government has a greater role to encourage the growth of communication facilities in the villages and not leave them behind. Businesses would thrive if they embrace technology in rural areas, economies would thrive and grow and globally, we would have a more evolved Information and Communication Technologies System.
KHL has a history of responsible business conduct. We strongly believe that real business success is not just about profits in numbers but also in the quality we offer and the satisfaction of our consumers attached to those numbers. Our corporate strategy reflects our commitment to sustainable business practices and balancing responsibility alongside growth and productivity.
In retrospect of all that KHL has been involved in, we believe the projects that have been a part of our portfolio are indeed helping in communicating what we feel in terms of building the nation. Projects involving optic fibre cable laying in areas like Gawadar, Pishin, Turbat, Buleda and Pasni etc, support the fact that in order to progress as a nation, the remote areas are where we should begin with. We are truly contributing to the national agenda of self reliance…
