Message of
Country Director
NSN on
Independence
Anniversary of
Pakistan
Saad M. Waraich
Pakistan & Afghanistan Country Director
Nokia Siemens Networks
As we celebrate the Independence Anniversary of
Pakistan this year, we note with deep sorrow the
sufferings of vast numbers of our people due to the
unprecedented floods which have caused havoc in 3
provinces: Pakhtunkhwa Khyber, the Punjab and Sindh.
This is a natural calamity that must be tackled with
courage and fortitude by all those affected. This is also
the time when the people of Pakistan should stand up
and support by all that they can to mitigate the
sufferings of those who have been devastated.
.
At the same time let us remember with pride that 14th
of August is a landmark day in the history of the
Muslims of the Indian sub-continent. This was the day
when they achieved their objective, an independent
homeland under the leadership of Mohammad Ali
Jinnah, a most relentlessly dedicated statesman of
unimpeachable integrity. Pakistan was the culmination
of the dreams of millions of men and women and every
one of us must put in his best to propel it forward in
keeping with the dictates and demands of the 21st
century.

The country has passed through numerous crises since
its birth to the present day and the Pakistani people
have overcome multifarious obstacles to move forward
on the road to progress. This surge is especially visible
in the field of modern technology. Today even laborers,
are seen equipped with mobile phones and the young
educated boys and girls are totally technology savvy
and fully at home with the Internet and its multiple
manifestations. Nokia Siemens is proud to play its part
in the technological advancement of Pakistan. For
example, it plans to transform mobile broadband use
with its Long Term Evolution (LTE), offering improved
and faster data speeds to support a suite of multimedia
and rich call applications. LTE will truly revolutionize the
region’s mobile market, changing the way businesses
and individuals communicate. The technology will
unleash a plethora of new devices such as Internet
telephones and videophones to end user services such
as teleconferencing, telecommuting, to wider benefits
in medical services such as remote diagnosis,
interactive distance education, rich multimedia
entertainment, digitally-controlled home appliances and
much more.

From the Top Executive to the junior most employees,
every person working at Nokia Siemens bonds today
with the people of Pakistan to celebrate the country’s
Independence Anniversary. We congratulate the
patriotic citizens of the country on the 63rd birthday of
the motherland. Nokia Siemens will endeavor with all
the resources at its command to assist Pakistan in the
rapid development of the Telecom Industry and help
make Pakistan a technologically advanced society,
standing proud and tall in the comity of nations.
