Every year the Independence Anniversary is a time to
rejoice and celebrate freedom. This year, our country is
going through one of the toughest crises in the recent
history. As we reminisce over our freedom, let us not forget
about one-fifth of our fellow countrymen who have been
affected by the floods.
This is a time for each one of us to express solidarity with
millions of our fellow citizens who are currently in need of
food and shelter. At Mobilink we are doing everything we
can to make a difference. Our teams are working round the
clock to procure and deliver immediate relief items to
families in need. The items are being procured from the Rs.
85 million fund set up by Mobilink and Orascom as well as
the salary donations that has crossed PKR 6 million and is
growing.
However, a lot still needs to be done as the flood continues
to surge through the country damaging everything in its
path. While Mobilink and its employees are playing their
part, we urge all others to contribute on their own or join
hands with us and demonstrate the true spirit of
Independence.
This is the ideal time for us to stand together as one nation.
